Hillside Residence

The recessed backyard patio served as a secluded outdoor room for family gatherings. Entrances, walkways and backyard borders were enhanced with trees, shrubs, perennials and grasses to provide intimate spaces, selective screening and visual interest along pathways.

The predominantly native plant palette was selected to showcase continuous blooms and interest throughout the seasons, in addition to creating pollinator-friendly habitat.  Design by Debra De Vries-Dalton during her time at Aris Land Studio.
